How much money do you have to pay for an iTunes store account?

There is no registration fee for iTunes. You pay for any media that you order and download that is not listed as 'Free.' The cost is listed at the far right side of the list of titles.

You do have to provide valid credit card information from an account in a country where the iTunes Store is active. But you don't have to buy anything to activate your iTunes account. The account has to be active in order to get the free media offered by the iTunes Store and to subscribe to the many free Podcasts or get album art. If you do decide to buy something, the iTunes store lets you choose either the 'Shopping Cart' method, where you review your choices before paying, or the 'One Click' method where you click once to automatically buy and download. Be careful.

You can set up your iTunes to ask for your passWord before the purchase is completed. This is best in case someone else uses your computer.
