VIN location on a 1996 polaris Indy xlt?

On a 1996 Polaris Indy XLT snowmobile, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is typically located on the right side of the tunnel, near the rear of the machine. It is often stamped onto a metal plate or directly onto the chassis. You may also find the VIN on a label attached to the rear of the machine, near the taillight.
