Why does your car heater blow hot and cold at the same time?

most cars have two sections in the blower box if you want heat vacuum oprated valves direct air through heating coils,same with air conditioning vent from out side. if you have vacuum leak you could get both cold and hot air. depending on which one is more extreme depends on which one you feel most.
