Are ants useful

They're very good systematic hunters and can take care of our pests. In ancient China trees in fruit orchards were connected with threads to form 'ant bridges', so the ants could reach every tree more easily and tackle aphids and the like.

They can also accidentally disperse seeds by burying and potentially forgetting them in storage chambers, or keeping them too long so they eventually germinate underground.
