Art and history are related

absolutely. In some cases, art is the only evidence remaining to ancient civilizations. Art reveals so much that would otherwise be left unknown, mainly a culture. Tapestries reveal clothing, food, food etiquette, tools, relationships, wars, architecture, homelife, etc. The materials used to create the art work are also used to understand BCE.

Art can show a candid vision of the ancient times. As time progresses, art indicates the spread of technology and communication. (think of the renaissance)

Art can reveal about as much as literature, and are an interesting component in history, especially regarding culture, emotions, and other psychological aspects.
