A man is on vacation with his wife and friend he is eating a canary he realizes his wife is dead how does he find out?

The man was on vacation and his wife was lost in the woods. His friends wanted to eat his wife but is told she ran away. He is then fed his wife and told it is a canary. After eating a real canary he knows that the first one tasted different. He realizes his wife was actually eaten.
