Is the little match girl a true story?

Social commentary in a fairy-tale (loosely) modulus. It ends tragically the author is trying to blast away at society"s (when out for a Good Time- which is normative in the Holiday Season-) to (Tune-out) social problems. it is sort of a problem novel of a totally different- and tragic mode than the reformed Scrooge. Evidentally pushing the Guilt angle. if people got involved in the right way- it would have ended differently.
