What is the difference between theft and robbery?

theft is/can be sneaky ie the victim takes time to notice that its happen ie pick pocket shoplifting,

someone you know sticks things in there pocket from you home

, your child takes money out of you wallet / purse a worker invited into you home to do a job and takes some thing

robbery is normally

high profile / violent or instantly noticeable ie bank robber runs in to bank with guns , person robs someone (mugged ) with threat of harm possibly with a weapon

some one tricks there way into you home ( you let them in )

( if some one get in to you home when you are not in or with out you permission its called burglary )
