How long has Malorie Blackman been writing?

Malorie Blackman had her first book published about five years after her daughter was born. She has written more than 60 Children's Books. Her most popular series Naughts and Crosses deals with love, violence and racism. She is the first black woman chosen to be the British Children's Laureate. She remembers being very angry about the racism she endured as a child.
