Botox itself does not directly cause cold sores, but the injection process can trigger an outbreak in individuals who are already prone to herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections. The stress or trauma of the injection may activate the virus, leading to cold sores. If you have a history of cold sores, it's advisable to discuss this with your healthcare provider before getting Botox.
