What do desert geckos eat?

Species of gecko that are native to hot and dry deserts tend to eat live prey. Insects, Spiders, small mammals, small reptiles etc..
My gecko (leopard) eats 12 large crickets a month u can try mealy worms and just keep them in the cage but mine did not eat them. It varies for every gecko.
