Muscle cars in the 80's...weren't really Muscle cars except for the Buick GN/GNX and the Turbo Trans-am 4.3L Turbo.
They Technology didn't catch up to the ideal, until the early 90's. Even then the tire technology was still 10 yrs behind and didn't catch up until the michelin Cup tires were released.
That's why, Old super/muscle cars aren't compareable to to todays cars. Drag slicks in the 1960's were as sticky as Track/dot legal slicks of today.
A good example is that a 1968 Hurst Hemi Cuda would KILL a Dogde demon, McLaren 720s, or 911 GT2 RS with the same tires.
