How do you change a lifter in a 2002 dodge 4.7 liter engine?

Pull off the valve cover. Make sure your rocker isnt laying on the head. Your going to need a special valve spring tool to compress the spring. Go to Dodge and get the upgradeed version of the lash adjusters and rocker arms,its a lousy motor mine has thrown seveveral rockers so far from supposedly carbon build up on valves.
