Do praying mantis makes any sound?

yes they make a cricket noise

in verry few species (the cricket noise), although some can make a hissing noise whilst performing the threat display by squeezing air out of small holes in the abdomen. I once heard this given off by a european mantis in France when i accidentally startled it.
