Northern pike thrive in a temperature range of approximately 60 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit (15 to 24 degrees Celsius). They prefer cooler waters and can be found in lakes, rivers, and wetlands. As ectothermic animals, their activity levels and metabolic rates are influenced by the surrounding water temperature. In warmer conditions, they may seek deeper, cooler areas to maintain their preferred temperature.
