How did Leonardo meet salai?

Leonardo da vinci met Gian Giacomo Caprotti, known as Salai, when he was a young boy, around the age of 10, in the late 1490s. Salai became Leonardo's apprentice and is believed to have been the son of a local farmer. He initially worked in Leonardo's workshop, where he was known for his mischievous nature and later became a close companion and model for some of Leonardo's artworks.
