What does the giant redwood look like?

The Giant redwood aka Giant Sequoia or Sequoiadendron, has a reddish colored to a more brownish colored trunk with rough and textured bark, but sometimes fairly spongy and soft. It has dark green needles with an exception of newer ones that are a spring green. The needles are shaped a bit like a bunch of feathers, like a twig with a bunch of smaller needles coming off of it. There are tall, often growing 160-279 feet tall. They have a trunk that has a 56 foot diameter. A large Sequoia can bear up to 11,000 cones and 300,000-400,000 seeds. They are also more rare because they were favorites for logging in the 1900's. I believe they have a protection on them now, thanks to John Muir, and the Sierra club, although one breed of it has gone extinct.
