How do emus sleep?

Emus typically sleep while standing, often resting one leg and tucking the other leg up against their body. They have a unique ability to lock their knee joints, which allows them to remain upright without exerting much energy. During sleep, emus may also lower their heads and close their eyes, but they remain alert to potential threats. They often take short naps throughout the day rather than sleeping for long periods at night.
