What does bars mean in music?

That's one bar. A good sized verse has 16 barz, and a full song usually has 2 or 3 versez. Although a verse can also be 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, 32, and so on.

No that's a common mistake a bar is not every two lines, that would make a 16 bar verse a 32. A bar refers to the counts in a beat, so when your writing a rap lyris you usually listen to a beat and work with it. The beat has a metranome, a certain time count. i.g 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4. and each bar would be after usually every 2 cycles, i think it use to be four, but its changed now. Im not sure anout that. Any ways that's what a bar is not every two lines like this man above claims. Its a very common mistake by young mc's i use to think that also.
