What is the stick bugs defence?

Stick bugs, or phasmids, primarily rely on camouflage as their main defense mechanism. They mimic the appearance of twigs or branches, making it difficult for predators to spot them. Additionally, some species can exhibit behaviors such as remaining motionless or swaying gently to mimic vegetation. In certain situations, they may also drop to the ground to avoid detection or use chemical secretions to deter predators.
