There are new techniques at each belt level but they all build on basic techniques and a philosophy that turns a self-defense technique into an immediate counterattack. Basic techniques include kick to the groin, right straight and left straight punches, elbows, knees, a variety of kicks, pluck defenses against a variety of choke attacks, other chore defenses, 360 defenses involving arm blocks, inside defenses involving in deflecting punches, headlock defenses, bear hug defenses, movement, ground techniques, break falls, and on and on to handgun, long gun, knife and stick defenses and multiple attacker techniques.
