Why is it good to harm animals?

Destroying habitats destroys animals' homes and food supplies. For example, the giant panda is endangered because there isn't enough bamboo. Humans are cutting down the bamboo forests for their own needs. Even though bamboo is a fast growing plant, they are being cut down faster than they can regrow. A giant panda's diet is 99% bamboo, with the other 1% consisting of small animals and other vegetation.
