Slingshot Brokers, Inc. in Brooklyn, Michigan, is a legitimate trucking brokerage business incorporated in the state of Michigan. Phillip Dawson is the owner, president and CEO.

According to the Better Business Bureau, a bogus "mystery shopper" company has been using the name of Slingshot Brokers, Inc. in Brooklyn, MI, on fake checks. A spokesperson for Slingshot Brokers, Inc. informed the BBB that they have received nearly 100 calls regarding the fraudulent checks and have alerted their local police department, as well as, their bank of the scam using their name. Slingshot Brokers, Inc. has no affiliation to the fraudulent operation.
