Can you get autocad for free if you are a student?

At this time, I believe Autodesk will provide students with a limited free version of Autocad. Check with your local college or university.

Some have downloaded illegitimate copies of Autodesk on mIrc and Torrents.

If you attend a university that has a engineering program you can get a 3 year free subscription and get any Autodesk product, including Autocad (see related link). After the 3 years is up you can renew it as long as you are still attending the university. If you do not attend a university all you can get is a 30 day free trial.
