You may face some, or all of the following penalties;
1. A ticket for possessing a fraudulent inspection sticker (39:8-9c).
-A $500.00 fine
2. A ticker for refusing to inspect (39:8-9b).
-A fine of $100 to $200 and a possible imprisonment of up to 30 days.
3. A ticket for failing to inspect (39:8-1).
-A $126 fine.
4. You may even get arrested and charged with tampering with public records (2C:28-7(2)(a)).
-This is a disorderly persons offense which carries a penalty of up to six months imprisonment and a $1,000 fine.
