Why do some lighters suddenly start blowing out more gas making the flame bigger?

Im guessing youre talking about a e-lite lighter in that case underneath the metal cover on top of the lighter there is a valve that controls the flow of butane. it might not be working correctly or might be set up too high. Its simple to fix(or make bigger) u can take the case off and adust the valve yourself making as big or as small as you want to. just lift the butane control switch up a little bit and adujst the control valve and put the case back on
