Get ready, this is going to be Wordy...
1. A gallon of water per person and 3 days worth for each.
2. Extra clothes including undergarments, sturdy shoes in case you have to walk on debris.
3. Energy drinks and bars. Also candy bars for sugar, a can opener (manual), cans of food, camping style cooktop.
4. Water bowl, water, wet and/or dry food for your pets, leash(s), a comfort toy or stuffed filled toy, any medications they need.
5. Candles, matches, flashlights, extra batteries, police scanner or American Red Cross crank radio for broadcasts and information, your cell phone (although, service will be busy or down). Your medications, paper/plastic plates and plastic silverwear, warming blanket (usually a foil type) and a sleeping covered tent.
6. Keep everything by your front door, just outside, or outside somewhere that you can get to.
7. IMPORTANT: A fully stocked first aid kit.
The list is really endless. Make sure you check your kit every 3 months for expiration dates and keep a check log with your stuff along with a list of names, phone numbers, emails, etc. so you can reach others.
