Why does my cat still have balls after being fixed?

After being fixed, a male cat may still have visible testicles because the surgery only removes the reproductive organs inside the scrotum, not the scrotal sac itself. The scrotum may take some time to shrink and the testicles may still be present but are no longer functional for reproduction.
