Why do organizations evaluate employees?

Human resource is continually having to be trained, and that training checked to ensure that processes and procedures are meeting industry standards as minimum or exceeding those standards where possible.

By assessing the competence of an individual the organisations are able to ascertain if that person is working effectively, outputting work to the required time and standard and if they have the ability to be moved in to more complex or responsible positions. The latter can also high light those who cannot work with greater complexity or responsibility and that person may need further training or to be taken out of that role so the process become more effective
