To remove the throwout bearing on a 1992 F-150 with a 4WD straight six, first, disconnect the battery and lift the vehicle securely. Remove the transmission by unbolting it from the engine and supporting it with a jack or stands. Once the transmission is out, locate the throwout bearing on the clutch fork, slide it off the fork, and remove it from the input shaft of the transmission. Be sure to inspect the bearing and surrounding components for any wear before installation of the new bearing.
