What are the intellectual changes during childhood?

There are none, as the brain is not developed for abstract thinking until about age 13 or 14. Of course some kids are natural geniuses at a very young age, but then they would have no problems. Cognitive learning is a long process, but you must begin with basics, such as command of a language and number skills.
