Can amphetamine show up as meth in hair drug test?

Yes, it is possible to show up on both amphetamine and meth. This pill is very similar to these drugs, and often can show the same effects if abused. The doctor usually recommends 1 pill per day but when someone takes over that amount they can even show signs other drugs. Over recommended amounts of Phentermine can cause dilated pupils, glossy eyes, dry mouth, etc, many similar signs to both meth and ampedtimine class of drugs.

I am currently a a doctor that provides Phentermine and I advise all my patients about the drug tests. Over the counter urine tests will almost always be positive, the only test that will not are high level test such as military, and few sports testing.

The active ingredient in phentermine is hydrochloride, unfortunately most if not all over the counter home drug tests positive for this in both sections, meth and amphetamine.

I know this to be true because I offer free drug testing for all my patients and every patient turns out positive. I allow 6 months of pills at the most and drug tests every 3 months, and then 1 final one drug test in month 7. I offer this so if any of my patients have to take a drug test outside my office, they can be cleared. However nothing is guaranteed when test are from other sources. My drug tests are over the counter home drug tests.
