Yes, Van Gogh was shot in the torso. It has long been assumed that Van Gogh shot himself, he infact did shoot himself with a pistol, not said what type. he shot himself in a sunflowr field. Though he did not get the bullet removed, he died of an infection on July 29, 1890.
