Why was it impossible for capitalist and communist governments to work together after World War 2?

Communism and democracy are two different ideologies that have rendered great impact in the world. No matter the ideology, each country has its own agenda. On the other hand these two ideologies don't mix too well and the leaders keep distance from each other's.
