My car sometimes makes a crunching noise coming from the front when i start it it may have something to to with the starter im forced to turn it off straight away wen it happns cos its a loud noise?

theres a thing called a PAWL that engages the starter motor to the flywheel ofthe vehicle. when you try to use it the pawl sticks either in orout and makesa crunching noise.. youeitherneed a new starter or a rebuilt one. I personally have cleaned and lubricated starter pawls on many vehicles and itworks for a while until it really wears out. try not treating the starter like trash and either replace it or deal with it
