Karel Čapek was a Czech writer who lived primarily in Prague, Czech Republic. He was born in 1890 in the town of Malé Svatoňovice and spent much of his life in Prague, where he became a prominent literary figure. Čapek's works often reflected his experiences and observations of life in Czechoslovakia during the early 20th century. He passed away in 1938 in Prague.
