Why is the CCCP known as the USSR?

The Russian name Союз Советских Социалистических Ðеспублик, which is transliterated into the Latin alphabets "Soyuz Sovietskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik", which translated in English is "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics" is abbreviated as "СССÐ" or "USSR".
