Can a ginger change their hair colour naturally?

Can't make any guarantee, but I had copper/blond hair and dyed it brown through my teen years.... eventually I came to appreciate and miss my natural hair color... but the years of dye had ruined my natural color and it now grows in a light brownish with hints of reds and blond in the sunlight.... Not as pretty as red.... :(
