Where is the thermostat located in a 95 Lexus sc300?

As you face the engine there is a large hose on the left (passenger's side) leading from the radiator to the water pump. Slide the compression clamp at the water pump down the radiator hose by squeezing the tabs with pliers. Remove the hose (catch and recycle the radiator fluid). Remove the two bolts holding the metal outlet (from which you just removed the radiator hose) onto the water pump. The thermostat is under the metal outlet.
