It might. Several athletes have been around people that smoke and then tested positive. Perhaps most famously was Ross Rebagliati who, during the 1998 winter Olympics in Nagano, first won the gold metal, but then lost it after he tested positive on marijuana. The medal was later returned to him after he explained it was due to second-hand smoking.
