What happens when the battery is reversed and you run it like that a little bit Then the altanater goes out on you and none of the lights work except the charge light and the replaced headlights?
I'm thinking that anything that is polarity sensitive might have been damaged, including the engine control unit. The voltage regulator and alternator diodes may have been blown.
