Catering salespeople frequently work for hotels or other venues that host weddings. Unlike Wedding Planners, who work on fee or commission, they are paid by a regular employer. Catering salespeople work closely with the bride and her family to create a memorable event. Some specialize in weddings, others also handle showers, christenings, and award dinners. There's no official credential to be a Catering salesperson (also called a Catering Manager), but a 2 or 4 year college degree is helpful. And, of course, tact, communication and good people skills are essential!
