How do Indians settle conflict in their tribe?

The previous answer said they usually went to war. It cited no evidence of any kind. The fact is, whoever wrote the answer either 1) Hadn't the faintest clue of what they were talking about, or 2) were incredibly lazy. I'm guessing both. I suggest, that someone with a real background in this subject answer the question.

My personal sense, from what little I know, and from talking to a few native friends, is that war was generally NOT the first option.

If I am able to do enough research, I will come back and try to objectively answer this question. Other than that, I suggest interested people look somewhere else other than this terribly informal site.
