A good answer would be something like this:
My name is XY and I currently work at IBM as a Software Engineer. I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and have a total of three years of work experience in IT.
I started my career as a Jr. Software Developer right after college where I worked for a variety of different clients in multinational teams. I learned how to become an effective team player and how to take initiative. I worked closely with the project manager on planning the project and got interested in the business side of projects. In order to get more exposure to the business side if IT I switched to Accenture and worked as an IT consultant for the next 2 years. I learned to work in cross functional teams and for the first time discovered the strategic value of IT. I would like to continue pursuing the business side of IT right now but I feel that I have come to an egde of what is possible w/o a formal business education.
That's why I want to pursue an MBA in order to complement my technical profile with the necessary business background in order to pursue a senior management position in IT and make strategic business decisions.
