What year did PADI start in?

PADI, or the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, was founded in 1966. It was established by John Cronin and Ralph Erickson to create a standardized approach to Scuba diving training and certification. Since then, PADI has grown to become one of the largest and most recognized scuba diving training organizations in the world.
