What are advantages and disadvantages of traditional organizational structure?

The traditional organization structure had an advantage because it made it easier to know who the higher ranking people are and to maintain discipline of the people who had to follow instruction. Its disadvantage came when there were to many operations and there was very few managers to monitor them.
