Do snakes require equipment

A secure vivarium - that is large enough to accommodate the snake at its adult size, a heat source & thermostat to maintain the temperature to that of its natural environment, hiding places - most snakes are secretive creatures, suitable substrate - bark chippings etc (NOT newspaper), climbing branches for arboreal species, a bathing pool for semi-aquatic species, a humidity pump for those who need high humidity.
