I got a new untame cockatiel and it sways from side to side. why?

Cockatiels sway from side to side and hiss when they are afraid of something. He/she is warning you to leave before they bite. As you've only just got him/her it's best to give them a day or two to relax and settle in, before beginning to tame them.
