How do you search for old newspaper articles about my mom's civil suit dated back to 1977?

There is a website called newsarchives.com that allows you to type in a person's name, the state or country you want them to search from and every article that contains that person's name will be partially listed. Some of these sites will not show you an entire article - only a portion of it and then you have to pay a small fee usually under $10.00 U.S. to access the entire article/articles of your choice. Once you type in news archives and hit search from let's say google there will be more than one website for you to choose from.
