In France it is known as La guerre de sept ans (The Seven Years War). The Seven Years war refers to the entire war between France and England from 1856-1863, which took place in both Europe and North America (whereas the French and Indian War just refers the North American portion of the war, which was from 1854-1863, in which France was allied with the Native Americans against Britain in the North American colonies). The French don't have a term for "The French and Indian War" specifically - they don't separate it from the rest of the Seven Years War.
